There are a lot of good tips out there to protect your laptop when traveling and here are a couple of my favorites:
1. When putting your laptop through the airport security screening, don’t put it in the first bin. Put your shoes, coat, and toiletries in the first bin and your laptop in the 2nd or 3rd bin. In case you are held up going through the scanner, you don’t want your laptop sitting at the front of the belt for anyone to grab.
2. Make sure you have a complete back up done before you leave for your trip. Store that back up on a portable hard drive or memory stick. If your laptop gets stolen or damaged, you want to be able to get your data back.
