For the last couple of weeks, My Vacation Lady has been posting about honeymoon budgets. Last week, we talked about what you can get for a $5000 honeymoon budget and this week, we are going to look at what our actual clients booked around the $7500 range for their 2017 honeymoons.
Pure Adventure in Costa Rica:
Samantha and Steve took a belated honeymoon to Costa Rica in February. They aren’t your typical lay on the beach with a drink in your hand couple so we created a pure adventure honeymoon for them with airfare for less than $7000. They flew from Newark into San Jose and spent one night in a 4 star hotel in San Jose before being picked up the next day for their adventure. Their adventure started with a white water rafting experience to get to Pacuare Lodge where they spent 3 days in the rain forest, hiking, white water rafting and ziplining to get to a romantic lunch! After Pacuare, they went to Arenal and spent 3 nights in a casita overlooking Arenal Volcano where they hiked, rappeled down a water fall, zip lined, rode ATV’s and enjoyed the hot springs.
Thailand
Nicole and Frank spent their 11 night February honeymoon in Thailand. They started in Chiang Mai where the visited the Tiger Kingdom and Hilltribe. The rode elephants and rafted down the river and they took a Thai cooking class. From Chiang Mai, they flew to Krabi and spent 6 nites in an ocean view room at a beautiful beach resort where they relaxed and explored on their own. All flights and transfers were included for a bit under $8000.
George and Nicole are heading to Thailand in early June. They are staying in 5 star resorts, starting in Chiang Mai for 4 nights. There they will spend a day in the elephant park pampering the elephants. They are taking a cooking class, playing with tigers and visiting a hilltribe community. They are taking a river experience where they will see local life from a longtail boat. From Chiang Mai, they will fly to Phuket and spend 5 nights in an ocean front junior suite. They will visit Phi Phi Island by speed boat, zipline and take an ATV tour. From Phuket, they are heading to Koh Samui to spend their last 4 nights in a pool villa at a 5 star beach resort to just relax and enjoy themselves. They used miles for their International Flights. We booked their domestic flights and their honeymoon package was just about $7000.
Stephanie and Sean are also headed to Thailand in June. They are staying in all 5 star properties starting in Bangkok for 3 nights. They are taking a private tour of the Grand Palace and exploring the city on their own. They’ll spend 4 nights in Chiang Mai, where they are going on a private tour of the City and Temples. They’ll spend a day with elephants and may visit the tiger kingdom before flying to Koh Samui. They’ll be spending 5 nights in a beachfront cottage suite and they’ll be taking a speedboat tour in addition to a few days of well deserved beach relaxation. With flights from Charlotte, their honeymoon was a bit over $8000.
Hawaii
Marissa and Dave used point for their flights to and from Hawaii. They are spending 6 nites in a deluxe ocean view room with breakfast daily in Maui. They have a car for the length of stay and they’ll be enjoying a luau. From Maui, they’ll fly to Kauai and spend 6 nights in my favorite resort in the island in a deluxe ocean view room with breakfast daily. They have a car for the length of stay and they’ll be taking a sunset dinner cruise. With a cancel for any reason travel insurance, their honeymoon package came to about $7600 for the 12 nights in Hawaii.
Greece
Ambassador Luxury Suites Santorini
Katie and Alejandro are heading to Greece for their July honeymoon. They used points for their flights from Newark to Athens and we filled in the rest. They are spending 2 nites in a 5 star resort in Athens where they’ll have time to explore on their own. From Athens, they’re flying to Mykonos to spend 5 nights in premium seaview room at a 4+ star property with a wonderful honeymoon package (including a candlelit dinner for 2, breakfast in bed one morning and more). In Santorini, they’ll spend 5 nights in a suite with a private pool and outdoor jacuzzi. They’ll enjoy a snorkeling cruise as well as a cooking class and wine tasting. Their honeymoon is running just about $7500.
Alix and Matt are honeymooning in Greece in late July. They’ll spend 1 nite in a 5 star hotel in Athens, take a 1/2 day city tour before flying to Mykonos for 5 nites. They are staying in a 4+ beachfront property in a room with a private pool and the same honeymoon package mentioned before. They are taking a sailing cruise and then heading to Santorini for their last 4 nights of their honeymoon. They’re staying in a honeymoon jacuzzi suite and will be enjoying a wine tasting and cooking class before flying home to NY. We included all flights and transportation for about $8500
Adult Only All Inclusive Beach Resorts
Kelly and Ryan are flying nonstop from JFK to Grenada in July where they will be spending 7 nights in a butler level suite with direct access to the pool and a patio with soaking tub. They are taking a sunset cruise and with cancel for any reason travel insurance, their honeymoon is coming to a bit over $8600.
Alisa and Mitch are spending 7 nites at a gorgeous beachfront resort in Antigua in a butler level one bedroom suite. They booked their own flights and their honeymoon package (with cancel for any reason travel insurance) was a bit over $6200
St Lucia Split Stay Honeymoon
Jeanmarie and Duane just booked their honeymoon to St Lucia. They wanted some t a bit different so they are doing a split stay 9 night honeymoon. They are flying into St Lucia from JFK and we arranged private transfers up to their adult only all inclusive resort where they are spending 6 nights in an ocean view junior suite with concierge/butler service. We’ve included 3 fun excursions- an ATV tour, a Sunset Cruise and hiking to a waterfall and ziplining. From this resort, they will be picked up in a private vehicle to be taken to their secluded Soufriere hotel overlooking the beach. They’ll spend 3 nites in an oceanview cottage with private pool, with a honeymoon package to include a couples massage, private beachfront dinner and a wine tasting. With flights, hotels, transfers and a cancel for any reason travel insurance, their honeymoon package came to just about $6800.
