Leave the Camouflage Clothing and bags at home

While it may be fun to wear camouflage clothing or it may be easy to spot a camouflage patterned suitcase on the luggage carousel, please just leave it home when you are taking a vacation.

camouflage pantsIn the Caribbean, there are many islands where wearing camouflage clothing can cost you a hefty fine or can even land you in jail, so just leave it home.  My Vacation Lady just heard of a situation where a newly married couple was detained for hours because the groom was carrying a bag made in a camouflage pattern as they entered St Lucia.  In another case, the groom was a member of the U.S. military and was wearing his camouflage cargo pants and was made to change his clothes in the St Lucia airport upon arrival.

The following countries are pretty strict when it comes to wearing or carrying anything in a camouflage pattern:

  • Barbados
  • St Lucia
  • Jamacia
  • St Vincent
  • Antigua
  • Barbuda
  • St Kitts
  • Nevis
  • Trinidad
  • Tobago

Just to play it safe, just leave any camouflage gear home.
