What’s the first destination that comes to mind when you think of combining a love of wine with your vacation?

Napa or Sonoma Valley, California, most likely.

While you’ll certainly be able to indulge in a glass or two in that region of the US, there are some other types of vacations to consider where wine takes center stage.

  • River cruises- There are sailings throughout Europe that focus on wines of the region. Imagine cruising the Danube and joining a Master of Wine for an exclusive wine tasting or tour a vineyard in Bordeaux, France after your ship docks right in town. River cruising is the perfect way to see some of Europe’s hidden gems.
  • Head down to South America and explore the wineries of Argentina and Chile. The Mendoza region produces incredible Malbec in the shadows of the Andes mountains. The Colchagua Valley is nicknamed Chile’s Napa Valley so imagine visiting several wineries in that region. The climate is similar to the Mediterranean which makes taking in the sights especially pleasant. There are several options for escorted tours with wine taking center stage.
  • If you prefer to stick closer to home, the Napa and Sonoma region of California is open for business after the recent wildfires. This area is perfect to explore on your own or I can help you craft the perfect itinerary based on your individual preferences.
