There is never a guarantee when it comes to weather but most honeymooners, obviously, would prefer to go somewhere the weather is good for their honeymoon.

My Vacation Lady has a conversation very frequently with our honeymooners about WHERE it is safe to travel on their honeymoon in the fall.  Hurricane season runs from June 1-Nov 1 in the Caribbean,  Atlantic and Pacific.  But there are still many places that you can go that are usually not prone to hurricanes in the fall.

So where can you go to get good weather in the fall?

  • The Tahitian Islands – think over water bungalows- their peak season is May-October but it’s been stretching a bit longer now.  We have honeymooners going to the Tahitian island in late October into November.
  • Hawaii is always a great idea.  While so many tourists flock to the Hawaiian islands in the winter (to escape the cold weather where they live), the spring, summer and fall is actually much nicer.  Hurricanes tend to pass near the islands, which may mean rain and winds but the chances of a direct hit are actually quite low.
  • Thailand – October starts  the end of their monsoon season so the weather is actually cooler (still hot) and dryer.  Still pretty wet in Bangkok, October actually brings less crowds (which is always good)  The best time to visit Chiang Mai is actually October – April.  November is actually a great time to visit Thailand.  In terms of the islands, Phuket is actually less humid and dryer starting in later fall.  Koh Samui can have more rain between September and November.
  • Bali  is still peak season in the fall.  It tends to be hot and humid but definitely beach weather
  • Fiji – peak season is similar to Tahiti- peak season is May-October but has been stretching info November.  Autumn is typically Fiji’s drier season)
  • Greece – Athens and the mainland is open year round, but keep in mind that many of the Greek Islands (Santorini, Mykonos, Paros, Naxos) start closing down to tourism in mid October.  If you are looking for the best beach weather in the fall, head to Crete.
  • The Mediterranean – think of the Southern European Countries and the areas that border the Mediterranean Sea and the Algarve Coast in Portugal.  Some of the areas on the Mediterranean Seas that are still great places to visit in the fall are Southern Spain, French and Italian Riviera, Croatia, Italy (Amalfi coast).  One way of seeing a number of different areas in the Mediterranean may be a cruise.
