My Vacation Lady recently spoke to clients who loved the outdoors but weren’t up for “extreme” adventure.   One thing that client considered to be an extreme adventure was bungee jumping.  We thought that was pretty funny, since bungee jumping is one of what we, at My Vacation Lady, consider to be in the Thrills and Chills experiences.

rapelling3Some of the activities that we might put into that Thrills and Chills category might be:

  • bungee jumping
  • zip lining
  • white water rafting
  • sky diving
  • rappelling down a waterfall
  • open door helicopter tours

Now, these clients were interested in Bali or Costa Rica or Croatia and you can do some of the fun Thrills and Chills experiences in some of these locations but one place that is really perfect for adventure is New Zealand, if the season is right.

Remember that summer in the U.S. is winter in New Zealand.  Winter in the U.S. is summer in New Zealand- so a great time for some really fun adventures.

In the past few years, we’ve sent clients clients to New Zealand for adventurous vacations or honeymoons.   We sent a single client to Queenstown, where he spent the week doing the some of the Thrills and Chills that we mentioned.

Here are 5 pretty Extreme Adventures that you can do in New Zealand

If you don’t want to travel that far, you don’t have to go to New Zealand for some extreme adventure.  There are a number of destinations that will give you lots of Thrills and Chills experiences– like Costa Rica (where you can rappel down a water fall like Megan and Paul did in the picture above), Belize, Mexico, Jamaica, Dominica and even Puerto Rico.  Hawaii is another great spot for some fun adventures!
