Congratulations, you’re going to Disney World and you are lucky that you booked with a Disney specialist like Carla Porter, a member of the My Vacation Lady Team.

Booking a Disney World vacation can be overwhelming so it’s a good thing you’ll be in good hands with Carla to navigate your way for you.  She recommends that you get everyone connected and ready to plan through “My Disney Experience” and decide on any dining reservations.

  1. In English, “My Disney Experience” is your online Walt Disney World account that will link you to your hotel reservations, tickets, dining plans, Fast Passes, photos, and the other members of your traveling party. The “My Disney Experience” app (MDE app) will connect you to your Disney account through your smartphone and MDE will be your “lifeline” on your trip. In addition to your personal plans, the app contains park maps & hours, show/parade times, attraction wait times, restaurants and menus, etc. Please go to www.disneyworld.disney.go.com to create your account if you do not already have one. Carla will make suggestions on your User ID and Password so that she can assist you with planning and verifying components of your vacation package.
  2. The next step will be to make any Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) you desire.  Reservations for all restaurants, including those at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney), open at 180 days in advance. The most popular restaurants will book to capacity on that morning, therefore a little advanced planning is necessary. I know its hard to know where and when you want to eat 6 months from now. My suggestion is that you make reservations now, if you’re even remotely interested in “sit down” dinners, and then modify/cancel as the trip gets closer. Dining reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to the day before. (Except Cinderella’s Royal Table, Hoop De Doo Review and Spirit of Aloha, which all require 3 days) All reservations have to be guaranteed with a credit card but nothing is charged to your account unless you are a “no show”. Also, reservations at Cinderella’s Royal Table, Hoop DE Doo Review, and Spirit of Aloha require advance payment in full or Disney Dining Plan guarantee. (You do not have to have a meal plan to make reservations at any restaurant.)

Best of all, Carla  will send you a restaurant “cheat sheet”, so you can explore what’s available.

Why go it alone in the scary world of Disney World Vacation Planning when Carla Porter, one of My Vacation Lady’s Disney Specialist can assist.  Reach out to Carla at carla@myvacationlady.com
