Have you ever dreamed about staying in a castle during your honeymoon? Not Cinderella’s Castle in Disney World but an actual castle that is hundreds of years old.
Almost all of My Vacation Lady’s Ireland bound honeymooners will stay in a castle for at least a night or 2 and the most popular is Ashford Castle. Donna and Jon sent us this picture of Ashford Castle after they stayed in it a couple of years ago and then just recently their friends Erica and Linc stayed in Ashford Castle as well.
Where else can you find real, honest to goodness, castles that you can sleep in?
The Tuscany region of Italy is also known for some great castles, like the Castello delle Quattro Torra outside of Siena.
How about Scotland? Inverlochy Castle sits nestled among the foothills of Scotland’s highest mountain – the Ben Nevis.
You’ll also find castles that you can sleep in all over Europe. In France, you can stay in a Chateau. Scott and Kelley stayed in a Chateau in the Loire Valley for part of their honeymoon. In Spain, your castle may be called a Parador. In Portugal, their castle hotels may be called Pousadas or Castelos. You can find castles that have been converted into hotel all over Great Britain, Germany, Croatia, Austria and more.
