Among the 4 more popular Hawaiian Islands, Kauai is the most lush and tropical.   Think Jurassic Park tropical- since it actually was filmed in Kauai along with many other movies.   Known as the Garden Isle, it has certainly earned its name.

If you tried to compare Kauai to the other main Hawaiian Islands, one word would come to mind and its PARADISE.

When My Vacation Lady  started recommending Hawaii to our clients around 20 years ago, they all wanted to go to Maui and most would go to Oahu but Kauai was relatively unknown back then.  If our clients wanted to visit Kauai, we would send them for 3 nights only.  Every one of them came back saying that they wish they had more time in Kauai.  Word got out about Kauai and now, we recommend a minimum of spending 5 nights in Kauai.  With all there is to see and do, Kauai has become the soft adventure island of the Hawaiian Islands.  We’ve been there a couple of times in the last few years and we still haven’t explored everything there is to see.

Aside from some phenomenal beaches, Waimea Canyon is a hiker’s or photographer’s dream.

Whether you drive into the Canyon or fly over it, you will be amazed by the size and sheer beauty.  Known as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific, it should be on your must see list.
