My Vacation Lady has sent thousands of honeymoon couples on their dream honeymoons since we’ve been around and we always start with a unique and very in depth consultation with both of them to really get to know the couple.

Picking your honeymoon destination is not the easiest decision.  It’s a big world out there and there is a lot to consider when planning your honeymoon but we’ll ask the right questions to help you really see your dream honeymoon location so one of the first questions to consider is

1. What is your dream honeymoon location.

Is it beachfront?  Is it in the city?  Is it in some exotic location?  Is it full of culture, entertainment, adventure or is it know for its fabulous food or wine?

Talk it over and really think about where you envision your dream honeymoon

2.  How long do you want to travel for?

If you are looking at the South Pacific or Asia, you might not want to fly 24 hours and cross the international date line if you only have a week to spend on your honeymoon.  Check your calendars.  When do you need to be back to work?  Once you know when you need to be back at work, now you can back track and see how long you want to be away for.  Always remember that taking a day or 2 after your honeymoon BEFORE returning to work is always a good idea.

3.  What do you want to see and do and experience?

At My Vacation Lady, we are all about your entire honeymoon experience so we’re going to ask you about activities you might be interested in, sightseeing you might want to do or whether you want to just lay on a beach with a drink in your hand.  There’s no right or wrong answer here.  This is your honeymoon and we want it to be everything you dreamed it would be.

4.  What time of year are you going to travel?

Hurricane season lasts 6 months out of the year in the Caribbean.  Rainy season last months in other destinations.  Should you let that sway you?  You always want to avoid things like monsoons so checking the typical weather in some of the destinations you are considering is a good idea.

5.  How much do you want to spend?

We never want our clients to go broke to pay for their honeymoon but you need to be realistic about what your money can buy.  If your airfare alone is going to be $1500 each and your total budget for 2 weeks in Italy is $5000, you will have a tough time doing the things you really want to do, see and experience on $2000.  You either have to lower your expectations on what you can do or the type of accommodations you can stay in.  Think about a honeymoon registry to maximize your honeymoon budget, consider shortening your honeymoon or delaying your honeymoon if your dreams exceed your budget and you don’t want to compromise

My Vacation Lady’s goal is to create a seamless and stress free honeymoon that will meet your dreams and budget.  We’ve been helping couples just like you plan their dream honeymoons since 1994.
