First, let me be honest with you…. I don’t dive, have never dived, almost had a panic attack during a helmet dive so My Vacation Lady can’t personally vouch for any of the dive sites listed in this article that CNN travel is talking about.
In the past, we’ve gotten requests for destinations with great diving. Yes, we can tell you what is supposed to be the best places to dive in the Caribbean:
- Grand Cayman
- Belize
- Bonaire
We can tell you that the Big Island of Hawaii, probably has the best diving of the Hawaiian Islands and Rangiroa has the best in the French Polynesian chain and there is some great diving off Taveuni in Fiji . We’ve sent clients to the Great Barrier Reef in Australia for superb diving and we’ve sent clients to Candidasa in Bali, since it was near so many great dive spots. We know that if you have your PADI card with you, you can carry an extra 5 kg of weight in your carry on bags on Air Tahiti.
According to the CNN Travel article, Iceland, the Netherlands, Sudan and the Red Sea offer some of the top diving sites in the world– who would have known. Diving in the U.K., Japan and Tanzania— all news to us.
