More destinations around the world are opening to Americans who have negative Covid 19 test results. Some will allow you to get these results within 7 days of arrival, some 72 hours.
So what are the different types of Covid 19 tests are there and what is acceptable?
In the last couple of weeks, we’ve been getting more and more information and changes in what tests are acceptable for travelers and it seems to be the VIRAL, MOLECULAR, PCR test.
Here is some info about Tahiti’s entry protocol:
Starting from July 15th, 2020:
- Quarantine measures will be lifted and French Polynesia’s borders will re-open to international tourism from all countries. All travelers will be subject to the following mandatory conditions.
- Prior to boarding:
- Proof of a negative Covid-19 test (RT-PCR) molecular laboratory or rapid test, such as the Abbott ID Now Molecular test carried out within three days prior to their international air departure (e.g. if the flight departs on a Monday at 11pm, the passenger needs to take the test the preceding Friday). Antigen and antibody tests not accepted.
- Prior to boarding:
Since these rules and protocols change on a very frequent basis, PLEASE check your destination’s protocol regularly.
